Hello, I want to install Boot Camp for gaming, but I'm not sure if I should use it. I installed boot camp once, and it slowed down my iMac, but my iMac is sometimes just lagging.

No, Boot Camp does not slow your Mac other than it uses storage space (it creates a new partition for Windows). If you are low on storage space then there could be a problem. You do not run Windows in the Boot Camp partition concurrently with your MacOS. You boot into either one independently.
Thanks, I understand now. I have to boot into only one (windows or Mac) and if I want to switch, I have to turn one of them off right? Also, I have 700gb storage free.
