Make sure the tip of the Pencil is screwed on securely and snugly ( but NOT TOO tight ). Also, make sure the tip of the Pencil is NOT worn down.

If the tip is worn, you will need to replace with a new Pencil tip.

A new tip should have been included in the box the Pencil came in.

Otherwise you can purchase Pencil replacement tips from Apple here.

Hello rina143,

The Apple Pencil is a great accessory to use with your iPad Pro. To confirm, are you able to draw in other applications on your iPad? If you're unsure, you can follow the steps in the "Draw or write in apps with Markup" section of the following article to test.

Draw in apps with markup on iPad

If you're able to draw in other applications, you may want to complete the application specific troubleshooting steps listed below. These steps can also be found via the following link. While the title of the article outlines different issues, these steps can be helpful in resolving many application specific issues.

  1. "Force the app to close."
  2. "Restart your iPad."
  3. "Update the software on your iPhone or iPad."
  4. "Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won't open

If you continue having issues after those steps, you'll want to reach out to the Procreate for additional support. Their contact details can be found via the following link.
