Lists of prior apps lists in Applications folder

Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question

We have no idea what "prior app lists" even means.

If something is in the Applications folder, then it is there.

Perhaps you mean the Dock? There can be icons left over there for applications that you deleted.

In that case, click and hold, choose Options->Delete from Dock.

This can also occur in Launchpad - refer to below picture.

Just Option Click and a small X in one of the removed applications will appear and click the X to remove the icon.
