Does anyone know how I have managed to write this word in Italics on iMessage?? It’s my friends nickname and it reverts to this font every time I type it, but I literally have no idea how I did it, I have googled to death and everywhere tells me it’s not possible to write in italics in iMessage… but I clearly have!

Select his name and choose Bold, Italic.
Or place an underscore on both sides of his name:

Nope, that doesn’t create this font, and you can’t do that in text only in WhatsApp? Thanks for the suggestion though
Huh? I haven’t used an app if that’s what your asking? I literally am clueless why when I type 𝑀𝑒𝓁𝓁𝓎 it is in this text (please help someone!)
