Verify if this is a Genuine Device:

If purchased form Apple or not, perhaps you were sold an ungenuine iPhone. So, try the following, reporting back what comes up...

Verifying a Genuine Device:

  1. Get the Serial Number: Find the Serial Number of your AirPods - Apple Support
  2. Enter the Serial Number here: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support.
  3. View the Results: If all shows up as an iPhone, then you are fine. If not, then it is ungenuine, and that is likely why you are getting this issue.

If you believe the information shown for your product is incorrect, you can submit your proof of purchase online

Your sales receipt is needed for Apple’s Limited Warranty, AppleCare Protection Plan, and AppleCare+ validation, so be sure to keep it in a safe place. Apple’s Limited Warranty is the same whether or not you register.
