aol offline on my MAC

My aol account is showing offline on my MAC - fine on my phone - I can received emails on my MAC but not send any? I can see others have had this problem.

I have deleted and reinstalled the account but it is still the same "offline" -

does anyone - APPLE = have the answer ?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.5

The most expedient way to fix that problem is to remove the problematic Mail Account, and then add it again.

First remove: Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Then add: Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support
