No /very little sound from iPhone 8 Plus until…

Weird this as above really very tinny low value sound when in normal upright position,making calls listening to you tube - yet lay it on it’s side and it’s dramatically improved ?! Locked the orientation and the sound was again absolutely carp however you angle it .so not a loose speaker or object within - downloaded latest iOS and restarted still the same - next have to see if turning on it’s side affects phone calls as well - I’m guessing it probably does !?
