My iPhone suddenly went into dark mode yesterday. I went to Display & Brightness. My Appearance is still on light. My Automatic and Night Shift are off. Still dark. My iPhone is SE version IOS15.4.1. I hate this dark mode!
Go to Settings/Accessibility/Display & Text Size and make sure all switches are off with the possible exception of Auto-Brightness.

Try switching to dark mode, then back to light.
all set to off. still dark.
when I have the time next month, I will go to the genius bar in Downtown Brooklyn.
