Apple Watch Series 7

I am currently looking to switch from my Fitbit to the Apple Watch 7, however, I do not want to connect a cell line. I want to make sure it will connect to my iPhone 12 via Bluetooth for call answering and txt messaging (both sending and receiving). I understand that using the bluetooth the phone must be near by.

Yes the phone must be within bluetooth range of the phone(about 30 feet) in order to make calls and send texts.

This is the GPS only version of the watch.
