Not sure why, but have lost the ability to save eg attachments to desktop/other places on disc - when I try to find out why, it appears to be something to do with "permissions", but can't negotiate the suggested way to reset these. Any thoughts appreciated.

Are you saying you can't reset permissions? If that was the suggested solution and it doesn't work, what error messages are you getting? Are you just not allowed access? Does your password not work? Can you change permissions but they don't "stick"?
How exactly are you trying to change permissions?
Hi - managed to sort it out - am not sure how the permissions changed, but I managed to get it all reset successfully (I hope). Thanks for replying to my query.
