How to disable iCloud local copy?

I would like to know if there is a way to keep on using the iCloud service but disabling the local copy as it takes up a lot of storage on my 128Gb MacBook Pro.

I have a 1Tb Mac Mini that I would like to set to have this local copy.

Would really appreciate if anyone has a solution for this.

iCloud is primarily a synchronization service, not offline storage. Your files will remain on all of your devices. If you elect to Optimize Mac Storage (System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud), older/larger files may be offloaded from your Mac as space becomes necessary.
