In the UK, can I buy AppleCare within 1 year or is it within 60 days of a mac purchase like other countries?

The UK AppleCare page (under How To Buy) says 60 days.
The US site Buy an AppleCare plan says the same but also gives two exceptions: Japan (30 days) and China mainland (within 7 days of your device purchase or in an Apple Store within 60 days of your device purchase).
Neither sites says that you have one year.
Interestingly, the UK page also states "AppleCare+ is not available in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man."
