''CONTACTING CARD ISSUER FOR AUTHENTICATION''
This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! I Never, ever had a problem buying songs on itunes for almost 20 years. Now this stupid security measure that appears when trying to buy a track has scuppered everything! I Recently put a similar post up when this started happening to me a few weeks ago. Although the process was slowwwwwwwwwwwwww at least I could-eventually-download a track although only one at a time.
Now I cant even do that!
So click to buy the track, a pop up box appears ''AUTHENTCATION REQUIRED'' European legislation requires banks to authenticate certain transactions'......so I click the OK button then on the screen a revolving circle and the words ''CONTACTING CARD ISSUER FOR AUTHENTICATION'' and now I'm just stuck on that page, nothing is happening. This has only started happening since I upgraded to Monterey, before that I could just buy a track with no security prompts.
I Have contacted my bank, they say there is no request coming through! I Have deleted my debit card on itunes then re added it and still the same. And I have plenty of funds in my account.
I Recently spent over £2,000 on a new Macbook Pro only to use for itunes as my previous 12 year old SONY laptop which I only used for itunes was full & running on out of date windows 7. Now that doesnt even get to the second stage when trying to buy a track! Its really, really annoying & is nothing but a massive inconvenience!!!! Surly there must be some way of pre authenticating a debit card so we dont have to go through all this hassle over a 79p purchase!!! Its ridiculous!
Any help will be much appreciated.
