Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! If you got a message that your Mac restarted because of a problem, your Mac may have experienced a software or hardware issue that required a restart.


You'll want to confirm the following:


  • Are there any updates available to install if you go to the Apple menu (  ) > System Preference > Software Updates? If so, install them to see if this continues.
  • If this happened after launching a particular app, confirm there are no updates in the Mac App Store for that particular app
