Can’t turn off closed captions

I’ve tried everything. The global setting for closed captions is 100% OFF. Yet I still have closed captions in every app. Every single one.

I’ve gone into the global CC settings and reduced the font size as small as I can and made the text as translucent as possible. This is how I’m living with it. But my goodness this is crazy.

Next step is a factory reset unless anyone has any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Separate from the Closed Captions settings, there is a setting for subtitles. Please verify how that is set.

Settings﹥Video and Audio﹥Subtitle Language﹥.

Try ‘Off’ or ‘Auto’.

Separate from global settings, you may alter the subtitle setting for the current video during playback.
