i've gone through all the settings, how can i get rid of the info screen that says "info" on the left and audio and closed captions on the right side of the screen. i have to press the menu buttons twice and then it will allow me to change channels.

Do you have the Apple TV box? If so, which model? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

Or do you have the Apple TV app on a third party device? If so, which device model?

On the Apple TV box, for me, this overlay disappears when pressing Menu once, or after 5 seconds of no remote activity.

Specific apps may be programmed to behave differently.

For live (linear) TV content, that may be common for a a few (4–5) seconds. If it stays longer, then that seems irregular.

Try this for the misbehaving app:

• Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
• If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
• If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
• If the issue still persists, then contact the app developer for further assistance.

If these channels are all inside a TV provider app, then that app is the one to dive into. Not the individual channels.
