I have gone through a number of steps recommended by apple and a number of different forums to fix but it still will not connect. I noticed when I open my case next to my phone, the phone doesn't show the device animation. I can hear music with the right one just fine. Thoughts?
Since the animation is not showing when you open the case next to your iPhone there may be a problem with the case (and it is not charging the left AirPod). At this point your best option may be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store near you and let them look at them. If that is not possible, usr]e the online Apple Support. Either way:

Thank you for your response. It seems there was a problem when charging. I charged overnight again and it worked just fine.
My left air pod pro will not connect.
