FCP X and plug in transitions not working in FCP timeline. T

My FCP transitions and plug in transitions are not working in the timeline. I can drag and drop a transition once or twice when I first start my iMac but it fails to add transitions after that. I have restarted the machine several times but the result is the same. I'm running version 10.6.2 Monterey 12.3.1.

I appreciate any assistance I can get.

Thank you!

In 10.6.2 you can no longer drag and drop transitions from the Transitions browser to connected clips, nor to replace a transition in the primary storyline. To apply a transition select the clip or edit point you want to add the transition to, then double click the transition in the browser that you want to add to the project.
