Hi! I'm using FCP and Compressor to create some "motion graphics". I have tried many different setting combinations, but everything I try results in a blurry image or an image that is missing colors. Here's an example:
I am recording the video using Screenshot using the default settings. I have also tried using Quicktime and adjusting various settings.

Sorry, I just noticed that you were using Screenshots - as Tom noted, this and Quicktime Player do not produce GIF.
Open one the files in Quicktime Player, press Command-I and post a screenshot.

Is your project in FCP also 1920x1080?
If you export a movie directly from FCP, does it look ok?
Yes, it's in 1920x1080 (please see below). I just tried exporting as .MOV and it looks good. No issues.
QuickTime doesn't record in GIF I don't think. Are you doing a screen capture? Try using the Finder, ⇧ ⌘ 5. You can select either the full screen of a segment. Of course full screen can be very large and will probably need to be scaled down greatly, which will reduce the quality significantly. I don't know Screen (is that an application?) Can you tell us exactly what you're doing step by step?
Does this happen in the browser, or when you add these images to the timeline?
What are the sizes of the images, and of the projects?
Looks like I wasn't too clear on my steps, so please allow me to try and clarify:
Within FCP itself, everything looks great. But when I output the Motion Graphic, things get ugly as shown above.

I should also add that my original screenshot above is a screenshot of the animated GIF. I tried to upload the actual GIF, but the form caps the upload size to 5MB. The screenshot is a good representation of the issue I'm seeing, FWIW.
