Apple mail keeps requiring password

I keep getting the following message and can not send e-mail on any of my mail accounts.


I know my Apple password and have entered it repeatedly . . without success.


Thoughts?

Hey there CourtneyNYC,


Since this is happening with your Apple ID, we'd like to see if you can sign in on the Apple ID account page to verify your account is in working order.


Once you open the link below, select "Visit your Apple ID account page" option, then select "Sign In".
