IPAD Pro: Virus, malware: _leanplum.sqlit and Venetia.iad.appboy.com

I am having problems with both iPad Pro I Android OnePlus phone. Totally erased both. Apple isn’t letting me switch off keys and some small iClaud backups. Still problems. Went yesterday to Apple store. They wondered too what is going on. Non stop flickering in settings, and oft in Safari when browsing. I erased my eBay app because it become strange. Signed in eBay to check one listing. It was only 5 minutes and 7 seconds left to bid. Next moment, flick and timer on eBay stoped moving. Today I looked behind two windows on eBay, and Siri was lurking there, even it is turned off everywhere…..

Took two screenshots from eBay messages and saved to files. Later when I found that two screenshoots in new made folder, it was also third picture there!? Only text in middle of the screen: _leanplum.sqlit

Before I erased my iPad completely last week, I found also new folder with strange inside script: Venetia.iad.appboy.com

Funny, when you browse that online: “ Success. I am in. I am alive.” !!??

Please, what I need to do? Not much help in Apple store yesterday….

Thank you

Hello marios223,

We appreciate you updating us with this information. If the following information doesn't help with this, it would be best to continue working directly with Apple Support via the previous link.

In regards to the webpages that you're seeing appear at times, we'd recommend checking if this could have been related to a pop-up. This may occur if you tap an ad in an app on accident, or with some websites that may prompt pop-up ads to appear. Check out the following resource for more information related to that, if it's the case: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

If your web browser displays annoying pop-ups

While browsing the web, if you see a pop-up or alert that offers you a free prize or warns you about security problems or viruses on your device, don't believe it. These types of pop-ups are usually fraudulent advertisements, designed to trick you into downloading damaging software or giving the scammer personal information or money.

Don't call the number or follow the links to claim the prize or fix the problem. Ignore the message and simply navigate away from the page or close the entire window or tab.

In addition to checking this, we'd recommend confirming that your Apple ID hasn't been compromised to make sure an unknown device isn't linked with your Apple ID. If you use iCloud, you could have information sync between your devices depending on your preferences so this could be related to websites showing on your iPad that seem unfamiliar. Work through the steps of the following resource to be sure your Apple ID is secure: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

Lastly, we'd recommend working with eBay Customer Service to confirm that your account is secure on that end. Be sure only your devices are logged in, and you can even change your login information to be sure no one else may have access.

Take care!

Hi marios223,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You mentioned that your erased your device, can you tell us exactly what steps you took when doing that? When you set your device back up, did you do so from a backup, or as new?

Hi Stevi.

Thank you for replying.

I tried to set up as new, but ipad was using in process, iCloud even if I signed iCloud off. In there was only “key” in ON position to back up, but slider couldn’t be moved OFF !! Coming back in ON position from self. Everything else was erased, not backed up, or downloaded. In setting up, I declined every time, when asked, to use any backups, apps data, etc… They did same in Apple store. I asked them to download completely new software, and they did that with Mac. I am still getting contacts filled up from iCloud, even I declined.

How to erase ICloud?

Safari is also getting some info and bookmarks, but last two back ups, I watched closely to decline.

Still I have some glitches and specially annoying flickering on setting screen. I am not using Siri, and tried to completely shut her of, but it’s impossible….

regards

mario
