I can only use my Apple TV subscription, all my other apps on AppleTV default to his email address, which is his Apple ID. I don't know how his got on my Apple TV since he lives in another state, unless when I visited it somehow synced my computer with his Apple TV?

The various apps keep their association to the account that was active when the apps were installed, for App Store purposes including app updates.
To break that association, delete these apps and re-install them with the wanted account.
If that is too complex, then the alternative is to reset the device and set it up again “as new”. Reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings - Apple Support

The factory reset should erase any customization, including account info.
If that didn’t happen, then perhaps the reset procedure wasn’t completed. Do try again, as described in the support document.
Else contact Apple Support for further assistance.
Thanks, but I already tried the factory reset and it still defaulted to his Apple ID on apps like Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu. I’ve checked that I’m not sharing in a family plan, and scoured my apple acct info to see if I’m linked to him anywhere and I’m not. If I try to enter or change password or subscription into using just the Apple TV system/settings I can’t even enter my Apple ID; it always defaults to his…and that after the factory reset
any other ideas?
