Swipe keyboard banned word: Abortion

The apple swipe keyboard appears to have banned the word 'Abortion' from the swipe library. Abortion is not an inappropriate word. It should be part of the swipe library, and should not be treated as a banned word.

Please +1 this question to encourage Apple to ensure that Abortion is not a banned word.

Replicated the issue yourself in the swipe-typing feature in messages

In 10 attempts to swipe the word, these were the only words it filled in.

The word does not appear when swiping the character path for abortion, just like ‘duck’ appears when swiping a common curse word. So it may not be banned, as the reply above indicates one can as it to one’s library, but it is not automatically included in the library, just as common curse words are not included. Abortion is not a curse words, it is not something that we should have a limited dialog around. It should 100% be in the default swipe library.

Hi turk__182,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're using swipe to type in Messages and you're unable to swipe "Abortion".

You can add words to your dictionary if they don't automatically appear in predictive text. You can go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement to add words. You can learn more here: How to use Auto-Correction and predictive text on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Set up text replacement
With text replacement, you can use shortcuts to replace longer phrases. When you enter the shortcut in a text field, the phrase automatically replaces it. For example, you could type "GM" and "Good morning" would automatically replace it.
To manage text replacement, tap Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
• To add a text replacement, tap the Add button plus icon, then enter your phrase and shortcut. When you're done, tap Save.
• To remove a text replacement, tap Edit, tap the Remove button  then tap Delete. To save your changes, tap Done.

We hope this helps.

Take care!
