Dnd showing in my messages

People have been calling and asking why I have my messages on dnd saying that they see the notification when the text me. Only problem is that my phone isn’t on dnd. I get all message notifications but to others, it still states that notifications are silenced. It’s been like this for weeks and I’m not sure how to get rid of it. I rarely used the focus settings, had been a couple of months, so idk why it won’t go away. Any suggestions?
