FCP library won't open

After the last update of MACOS 12.3.1 and FCP 10.6.2 several of my FCP libraries won't open. They are all on an external drive. The error code says the library has to be read-write and it is.

I have tried the following.

disconnecting the drive, turning off the drive, shutting down my computer, trying with a different user,

changing permissions in the library and rebooting with the new permission, then changing it again to read-write and reboot. I have copied the library to another drive that has a library that I can open and that didn't work. I reset all my preferences on FCP. The only thing I have not done is uninstall FCP and reinstall.

It doesn't make sense that I can open other libraries on other drives if this were an FCP problem.

This is a large library 2.6TB if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions?

The drive does have full Read & Write permissions it is a 8TB Lacie Drive. I have three other small libraries on the drive that opened fine. It is formatted as MacOS Extended (Journaled). There is 3.34 TB available on the drive.

I ran the first aid and still cannot open the library. At this point I am wondering if the library itself has somehow been damaged? The other libraries on the drive opened fine.

Is there some diagnostic tool for the library?

I was able to open the backup, a few media items are missing, but I can replace them.

Can you open a backup of the library? By default, they are stored in ~/Movies/Final Cut Backups/

Make sure that FCP has "Full Disk Access" in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy

I don't think it should matter because you have permission blown out on the LaCie, but is the "ignore ownership" checkbox also checked?

Check read/right permissions for the entire drive. What’s the drive, and how is it formatted?

I gave FCP full disc access as described above and that didn't work to help open my library.

Can you post a screenshots of the drive permissions settings and of the error message you get when you try to open the library by double clicking it?

You could also try running Disk Utility's First Aid on the LaCie. Looks like it was created 6 years ago and a lot can happen over that time period.

I think the ownership checkbox is removed if the drive is/was? used as a TimeMachine backup.
