I'm setting up a new MacBook Pro-14 and have found that I can't search in the Library folder

I'm setting up a new MBPro-14 and have found that I can't search in the Library folder. Presumably it's not being indexed by Spotlight. I've tried using Finder search (Cmd-F) instead of Spotlight bar and adding "System files" and "File visibility" but it didn't help.

I've never had this problem before (a loooooong time).

Is there a new checkbox somewhere? Any suggestions?

I rebuild the index and it's behaving normally now (so far).

( For anyone reading who doesn't know how to do this..

Go: System Preferences/Settings/Spotlight/Spotlight Privacy.

Add (+) your Hard Drive (startup drive).

Close Preferences.

Go: System Preferences/Settings/Spotlight/Spotlight Privacy.

Remove (-) your Hard Drive (startup drive).

Close Preferences.

Allow Mac time to index (you can watch it via Activity Monitor - process MDS )

Are you starting from the Library folder? If not, you won't generally get any results.

Adding System Files should allow you to get results from the Libraries.

The Libraries are all indexed. Content may be a bit sketchy, but they are indexed.

If yours are not, did you try reindexing spotlight?

Can you verify your software is up to date…

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.1

Yes, MacOS 13.1

I guess I can reset Spotlight, but just wondering if this is a new normal, or if others have come across the same thing.
