Siri stopped reading ebooks as usual

Hi,

some time ago, between 6 and 12 months maybe, Siri stopped reading ebooks as she did for years.

I used to do that way to listen ebooks while walking or driving.

Currently, just reads a few pages and stops. Even it stays on the same starting page and has to look for the page she reached reading.

Iphone 11. OS 15.3.1

Thanks

josevf,

According to the following link, Siri does not read audio books. What can I ask Siri? - Official Apple Support

You can, however, listen to audiobooks using the Books App.

“Play an audiobook

In Reading Now or in the Audiobooks collection in your Library, tap the audiobook cover, then do any of the following:

  • Skip forward or back: Touch and hold the rounded arrows, slide and hold the book cover, or use external controls such as headphones or car controls.
  • Note: To change the number of seconds that skipping advances, go to Settings  > Books, then scroll down to Audiobooks.
  • Speed it up, or slow it down: Tap the playback speed in the lower-left corner to choose a different speed.
  • Set a sleep timer: Tap the Sleep button, then choose a duration.
  • Go to a chapter: Tap the Table of Contents button, then tap a chapter.
  • Note: Some audiobooks refer to chapters as tracks, or don’t define chapters.
  • Go to a specific time: Drag the playhead, directly below the audiobook cover. The point where you started listening is marked with a gray circle on the timeline. Tap the circle to jump back to that spot.” Listen to audiobooks in Books on iPhone

We hope this helps!

Excuse me but that is not right.

Siri, or the voice of Siri to be more exact, has been reading ebooks for me for years on iPhone 7, but it stopped working a few months ago. In August switched to an iPhone 11 and also didn't works like before.

Before, when you drag with two fingers from the top of the screen if you were on Books with an open book, Siri's voice started reading and didn't stop. She reads for me all the way while driving for up to 3 hours.

Now is not working anymore.

Excuse me but these kind of answers doesn’t makes much sense, are not useful because you’re not answering the question and seems not professional.

1- I restarted iPhone several times in that time.

2- Older? I’m one version, maybe two behind. In fact got notification to update this morning. In these months I updated OS a few times.

3- I use audiobooks, but also would like to continue using Siri reading books as did for a few years.

Thanks. And have a nice day too.
