Any suggestions on getting a little more out of my IMac 27"? Overall it's not bad mainly use for music and beats. It's a pain not being able to use the app store. It beats having to buy a new pc. My question is where can I find compatible software for iMac of this year?

Make Time Machine Backup is very useful and can be used to Revert to Previous Working macOS
Notation - Mojave is the Last version to support 32 bit applications / extensions and Drivers. Catalina, Big Sur & Monterey supports only 64 bit and there is no workaround.
Suggest using Go64 to find 32 bit application before attempting the upGrade. Some or many of the Application already installed may required update or upGrades to 64 Bit Versions.

Up to date browser, it's Chrome Browser without google & without Ads...
Look into the Free LibreOffice, it handles MS Office files like Word & Excel, & Page Layout…

High Sierra is as far as it can go.
It's time to seriously consider a new machine. That one is now 11 years old and is no longer supported.

If you don't already have it installed and activated, I'm not sure you can any more.
I believe Microsoft shut down their activation servers for unsupported versions of office.
