Just a few days ago i noticed my pictures I had assigned to my contacts started disappearing. After further investigation i noticed that item1.X-ABADR:us was being added to the country of the address i had listed for my contacts. It showed United Statesitem1.X-ABADR:us as the country. I deleted it, and re-entered the country, added back my contact photo, only for it to happen again and again. How do i make this stop?

Conclusion
As of this morning, all my changes to my contacts are in tact, and I do not see any further corruptions. I believe the issue was caused by Outlook syncing with iCloud contacts. Once I removed Outlook's "application-specific-password" at appleid.apple.com, all the contact corruptions stopped and have not returned for over 36 hours. This solution should work for folks who don't require Outlook to sync with iCloud contacts or mail. Note: I actually had the 'sync contacts' feature turned off in Outlook and it still created contact corruptions.
Yup, understood. I had already removed all my Outlook (and Gmail) contacts and aggregated them all into iCloud. The only place I have contacts is in iCloud. I can access them easily enough in Outlook.
That said, I am seriously considering ditching Outlook altogether but I use a couple of add-ins that I really, really like.
Interestingly enough I've just done a massive analysis of email apps for the Mac where eM Client (free for one email account) and Mozilla Thunderbird came top. At the moment I'm loving Thunderbird with a good set of extensions which are giving great functionality. Properly supported too.
Yep. tried all that. Didn't work. Once it syncs it reverts back to adding that extra verbiage to the address section.

I use Legacy Outlook. No new Outlook will ever let you use an iCloud alias as your email address so I’m out; small population that I am. New outlook is Shiite.

Where are you unchecking the Exchange Contacts option? I cannot find that in any of the settings windows in either the app or the iOS app settings area.
iMac desktop and Macbook under System Preferences > Internet Accounts.
Ahh, thanks. I'm not using Outlook on the desktops, only in iOS.
There used to be a 'merge contacts' setting in the iOS outlook app which could be disabled. That seems to be gone now.
Any ideas which ASP you think belonged to which app and caused the issue?
I am assuming, based on DZLab's helpful note, that it was Outlook's ASP. I will see now that it is revoked if the problem is ameliorated.
It all depends on whether your primary cloud source is Outlook.com or O365. If your primary is iCloud you'll be fine.
