How to screen mirror with iPhone 11 using my Apple tv

Mirroring uses the control center, and AirPlay controls are provided within various apps.

I’ll assume that this is not a managed iPhone, and that screen time and restrictions are not enabled.

Restart your iPhone.

Also update ensure your iPhone to iOS 15.4.1 (current), if not already running that version.

The two controls for mirroring and AirPlay are circled in the image below:

There is nothing specifically labeled as “airplay”. There is screen mirroring, as the circled overlapping screen icon in the above image, and AirPlay is the 2nd circled icon. But AirPlay (as opposed to screen mirroring) must be implemented by the app that you want to mirror, for example, Youtube or Apple TV.

What are you trying to mirror or AirPlay (AirPlay 2) into?

That usually involves HDMI output adapter and cabling to an output source, or a TV with embedded AirPlay 2, or an external device such as Apple TV 4K, or similar.

Some controls only manifest when they have something to do or connect to, too.
