How to redeem gift card using my Windows web browser???
When I try to redeem a gift card in the browser all I get is a statement that a particular version of mac OS is required. That's crazy. I'm using a windows PC.

Where are you trying to redeem the card exactly?
On Windows redemptions are usually done through the iTunes application directly.
You can however, also redeem it through the https://music.apple.com website or the https://tv.apple.com website by going to your account settings there and clicking on Redeem Promotional code. You don't need to have an active subscription to either service.
