I have a new provider, cannot change the SIM number to my iphone XR number.
Have done ...... Settings...Phone...My number....put in phone number....save
does not save my number
Phone is working on my number, but will not change this SIM number!

You need the old provider to release the number to the new provider

In my country you ask old provider for PAC code and pass it to the new provider
