Five months into a HomePod Mini using M1 MacBook Air have yielded the following review. Do not buy the HomePod Mini until Apple solves the problem of music cutting in and out several times within one hour. Analysis includes Apple Music and My Library cutting in and out. There is no problem when listening to music using AirPort Express connected to other speakers. There is no problem listening to music using iPhones.

The problem centers on M1 Chip MacBook Air and HimePod Mini not playing nice together. Apple Engineers have been working on a solution since January 2022.

Do you have a dual band router? You may find HomePod is more stable if it only has access to one of the radio channels. 5GHz is faster, 2.4GHz has the bigger range, where both are available HomePod may get stuck when hunting for a better service, or at least this is my SWAG. Try disabling one of the bands on your router or give it a different SSID and don't set up the iPhone for the new SSID.
