i migrated my old intel imac in to the new laptop and ive been cleaning my files, deleting old files etc.

when i go to "about this mac" it opens fine the -overview tab works fine, the display tab works fine, the storage tab crashes when calculating the storage i cant find a good reason or a good solution why is this happening and ive found at least two other people with the same problem and no solution

try a SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
