What if I can't remember the password that I used to set up iCloud?

If I backup my iPhone to the iCloud and need to restore from the backup, do I need the password for the iCloud or just my appleid and password? what if I can't remember the password I used to set up iCloud?

I was just able to upgrade to iCloud+ to add more storage space to the cloud but didn't need cloud password....???

iCloud uses your Apple ID and password. If you only have one Apple ID, it would be the same ID and password as you used to log into this forum. If you have another and have forgotten the ID or password, see the following:


If you forgot your Apple ID email address or phone number - Apple Support

or

If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
