iPhone won’t allow me to add one of my work email accounts

Trying to add my work email to my iPhone 11 . Done all of the steps that Apple shows, that also worked when adding the same account to my iPad. After I go thru all the steps and hit verify an error message says I need to enter a password. I did enter my password in every space that requires a password. I don’t understand why it works on my iPad but won’t on my phone. All the other emails work including my bosses since I also have to have access to hers to handle her emails but it won’t accept mine. Help!
