I m unable to add my number in "Contactable at" in the Name, Phone Number, Email section of the Apple ID.
So my younger brother created an Apple ID for himself before me using my number, but later when i created an ID, he removed my mobile number and used his own.
Now when i try to add my number, it says , you cant use this number

You have contact Apple support and they told you:
'and they told once a number has been registered on one Apple ID, it cant be linked to another, even after delinking from the previous one'
That's what it looks like . . .
May be contact Apple again and ask how much time is needed after delinking from the previous one, you can use your number again.
You may ask for proof from your carrier that that phone number has been assigned to you.
You both have to edit your own trusted phone number.
Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit your Apple ID details.

we both have only our own numbers in the trusted numbers, still i m not able to verify my own number
Check here -> go to Settings -> tap your profile -> then you will see Name, the phone number & email.
yes, i dont see my number under contactable and i m unable to add it there. My brother has only his number in that section
so there really isnt a way for me to use the same number ?

If so, then you are forced to request a different phone number from your carrier.
But then you have to inform all your contacts (companies, friends, etc.).
yes :( , but this is kind of stupid, say if i dont use my number for a while and the carrier company , assigns my number to someone else, how will he use it then ?
I wouldn't know, just request a new number from your carrier.
