Phone switching off when locked

I was a samsung user before shifting to iphone. There was a feature there in which your phone couldn’t be turned off or restarted if the phone was locked. In iphone it can be easily done. In the event where the phone is stolen the thief could easily turn off the device. Just makes me feel that this could be avoided.

iPhone 13, iOS 15

That is correct, but it also allows you to “restart” your phone on the rare occasion that it malfunctions.

Plus, offline finding does allow a measure of geo-location even AFTER the phone is turned “off” via it’s BlueTooth beacon.

A thief IS going to prevent you from finding the phone … it’s part of the job description.

However, as long as you have a truly secure passcode set which isn’t easily guessed, nobody is going to be able to access or reuse that iPhone.
