This doesn't work

This page:

gives information that is clearly incorrect.

I have two issues:

And in System Report>Hardware>Controller, I see this:

If you have feedback on an Apple Support article, click the no for ”helpful? [yes] [no]” near the bottom of the article, and fill in the comment box that then appears.


Looks like this article does need an update for Apple silicon: If Apple Pay on your Mac is turned off because security settings were modified - Apple Support


As for security settings having been modified? Ensure system security updates are automatically installed, as a starting point. This tends to be the more common cause, and not the startup-related settings.


Here’s the article for Apple silicon Macs equivalent to that T2 article, and this including a pointer to the aforementioned system security updates info: Change security settings on the startup disk of a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support


And if you want, also log feedback in the T2 article (“helpful? [no]”) suggesting Apple link to the Apple silicon equivalent for readers arriving at the T2 article, too.
