How assure external disk is permanently mounted (not ejectable)? Monterey
It is not clear to me when a disk in a permanently attached external enclosure becomes 'permanently mounted'. This DID happen when I specified the absolute path to my home directory (on one such external drive) using the Advanced Options under the Users&Groups specification of my home directory. I entered /Volumes/Home/myname, where Home was the name I gave one of the external disks. That works fine, but I don't know how to do this in general. I suspect I don't know enough about APFS volumes, but looked for 'link' in the Apple Disk Utility User Guide for Monterey to no avail.
There's good stuff at

and
https://eclecticlight.co/2019/01/05/aliases-hard-links-symlinks-and-copies-in-mojaves-apfs/
but I'm hoping there is an easier way, before I read up on all the details.
Thanks for any suggestions!
