2019 MacBook Pro miscalculating storage

My MacBook Pro 2019 (macOS montentery) has begun to make mistakes while calculating storage, saying that I have 300 gb of apps on my 25o gb hard drive. I used disk drill and it says that there was only 173 gb of things on my entire computer. Does any one have any ideas on what could be causing this.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.3

I came across this issue as well. I contacted Apple, and they had me unmount, and then mount the hard drive in Recovery Mode. It was of no success. Then, I reinstalled the macOS, and all was complete. So, reinstall the macOS.

A. Re-Mounting the Drive:

Boot into Recovery Mode (Intel or Silicon) . Then, using Disk Utility, see if the Hard Drive is seem. If it is, then see if you need to click the “Mount’ button for it. Try rebooting once more. If of no success, then click unmount button, and then the mount button. Try rebooting once more.

B. Reinstalling the macOS:

Go Here: How to Reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.
