Apple pay

I have an iphone se 2020. When i go to the lock screen and double tap home screen, it just thinks i am trying to login to my phone and tries to scan my fingerprint.

As the above article indicates, you must double tap the Home Button, not the Home Screen, to invoke Apple Pay.
