Your iPhone does not have any Bluetooth profiles to accomplish anything with the MacBook Air. If you are attempting to use your iPhone as a Hotspot for your MacBook Air use WiFi instead and just set a password on your iPhone hotspot and connect on your Mac via WiFi.
