How do I put my recent photos at the top of the screen instead of scrolling all the way down to the bottom

In the library view, the photos are always in that order. But if you leave the view at the bottom when you close photos, it should still be there when you next open it.


Alternatively, you can create a different view using a smart album with the condition - date captured - is before - 1/2/3000


That will show everything in your library, and you can then sort the smart album by date ascending or descending.
