Where to reset the password for an encrypted iPhone back-up on a MacBook?

The description If you can’t remember the password for your encrypted backup - Apple Support of where to reset the password for an encrypted iPhone backup works for an iPad, but I can't find the section in my MacBook's Preferences where I can reset the device. Any tips?

Encrypted backup password removal I forgot the encryption password for the iPhone backup on my PC. I intended to remove the backups an create a new one with a fresh encryption password. I removed the backups and followed the instructions to remove the password, however the back up encryption option is still on and dimmed. So it will not allow me to check it off. The option there is to change the password that I can't do because it requires the old password - that I do not remember. I have an iPhone 8 (IOS 15.2), Windows 10, and iTunes (12.12.2.2) environment. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Forgotten password for encrypted backup So I followed the aforementioned steps under "If you can’t remember the password for your encrypted backup" but my password was not reset. I haven't done a backup for my iPhone on this Mac so I'm not sure how to reset the password and start a "new" backup with a new password... any advice?

How to retrieve encrypted backup password ? I like to know how to retrieve encrypted back up password when you Restore backup from PC ? I checked the support explanation, but it says you can't. There is no meaning of Restore Back-up function in iTunes - if user has to depend on 1-only password for restoring whole iPhone. There should be some procedure to retrieve the password OR generate new password with authentication of user. Please provide your answer.

It’s not done on the MacBook, those are the correct steps and you follow them on your iPhone.
