Hi - That is a brand new camera:
Apple is not quick to update for new cameras. Worse, they don't communicate any sort of roadmap or timeline. It is not even possible to say if they will support a particular camera.
Your only options are:
* to wait - and if you like convert your raw files to DNG raw format using Adobe's free converter, which you should then be able to use in photos.
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html
* Or... use software which does support your camera.
Sorry I can't provide more positive information.

You can the currently supported cameras on Apple's RAW support list: Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey - Apple Support
If and when your camera model will receive RAW support from Apple as a part of a system update or upgrade, it will appear on this list.
Strange - I didn't realise the A7iv files in particular were an issue. I have both an A7iv and an a6600. Finder preview renders and opens the a6600 files no problem but not eh A7iv files, despite them both being ".ARW" files.
Nothing strange at all. Part of what makes any model of camera different is the firmware applied to the sensor. Each model is unique and support for each model has to be added on a case by case basis. So the fact that most all Sony Raws have an ARW suffix (and Nikon's have a NEF one etc) is unimportant. Third party software makers - especially one who make dedicated photography software - will usually be faster to write the Raw decoders than Apple. On the other hand it does, for me, beg a question about why folks who spend $2500 on a camera and more on lenses will be happy to process the raws in a giveaway app... but that's just me.

I open my raw files in third party software so didn't notice the issue until I read this article!
Thx .
