I got my mother an Apple watch but it does not record her steps when she is pushing her Rollator. It will record her steps if she is walking without the Rollator/Walker. Anyone know a fix for this?

I'm not sure, in this case, that there is a good "fix" for that situation. The Apple Watch works like a pedometer to record your steps by how (and how often) you swing your wrist. I have heard of people who attached the watch to their ankle with limited results.
Thank you for your suggestion. I will try the ankle idea. This seems like something Apple could to fix by asking if you walk with a walker or not. When they were designing the watch, I am sure they didn't plan on an 87 year-old wearing one!
Thank you for your suggestion. I am interested in finding out how far my Mom walks in a day, so using a workout setting won't tell me that. The only accurate way to do this would be to record her steps, but the Apple Watch acts like she has not even moved an inch, even if she has walked for five minutes straight with her walker. Very disappointing!
Thanks! I am going to try it as soon as I get a larger watch band that will fit around my Mom's ankle.
I have experimented wearing the watch on my ankle,it measured the distance ok but the heart monitor is very erratic.
