Mac Studio display on 2017 iMac on Monterey

Why not support the Target Display Mode feature? I have a brand new Mac studio, but my Studio Display has just been delayed an additional 8-10 weeks. It would be very handy to use this feature! Also potentially as a second monitor.

Is there any way to get it to work?

Target Display Mode is dead and has never worked with any M1 based Mac. It died it's final death in 2014, please refer to Target Display Mode (Target Display Mode). By the way, we are all end users just like you. If you have feedback for Apple please let them know at www.apple.com/feedback.

If you need an interim display until your Studio Display arrives, please buy or borrow one. You have many many alternatives available to you however Target Display Mode is not one of them.
