homepod mini stops playing after 14 seconds

I cannot understand this issue. After 14 seconds, music I stream to my various HomePod minis stops playing and attempts to skip to the next song. I have seen from other posts that disabling Atmos or Lossless fixes the issue. It did not.

This streaming problem has been around for over a year. Why has it not been fixed? How can I avoid it?

Things you can try:

  • Reboot router and HomePod.
  • Make sure that HomePod only has credentials for one Wi-Fi service, e.g. for a dual band router give the 5GHz radio a different SSID and don't give the credentials to your iPhone.
  • Sign out of Apple ID for music in HomePod's settings and sign in again.
  • Restore HomePod.
