I used to have the app for my apple tv remote, which came in handy when I misplaced the remote…now, all of a sudden it’s not there, can’t find it in the app store, and what they do offer is for smart tvs, which I don’t have. Where is the remote app??

The Apple TV Remote app from the App Store was discontinued and removed from the App Store.
Instead, users can access the Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center since iOS 11 (2017). On iOS 11, it would be installable. On iOS 12 or later, it would be activated by default.
